  • Eulychnia breviflora Phil.: is a columna, nearly erect, cactus 3-7 m tall, much branched from below, often with woody trunk. Distribution: coastal Atacama desert of northern Chile.
  • Eulychnia saint-pieana F.Ritter: has candelabriform much branched stems with short woody trunk. It has large, white, woolly areoles and long central spines. Distribution: Atacama desert of northern Chile.
  • Eulychnia saint-pieana f. cristata hort.: is a crested cactus that forms fan-shaped stems with especially hairy areoles.
