Description: Echinopsis cv. Magenta CaterpillarSN|17820]]SN|17820]] (Lobivia) is a contorted monstrous crest with bright magenta blooms from spring to summer.
Stem: This clone has multi-fan monstrous green stems with flat rounded ribs.
Spines: Tiny, acicular, slightly curved, arranged like little spiders amber coloured, turning greyish eventually.
Flowers: Large, campanulate often crested, bright magenta. Stigma lobes green. Filament red, anthers cream-coloured.

Water regularly in summer (but do not overwater ) keep rather dry in winter. Feed with a high potassium fertilizer in summer. It is quite cold tolerant if kept dry (hardy to -5° C). Need a bright exposure, full sun or half shade in summer.
