Description: Submatucana(now Matucana) mamillaris (note correct spelling) is a Karel Knize n.n. for his collection number KK1638. Bregman states that although it's seed structure places it between Matucana krahniiSN|6084]]SN|6031]] and Matucana paucicostataSN|6059]]SN|6059]] it appears to have more affinity to Matucana tuberculataSN|6084]]SN|6084]]. All of these being within in the paucicostata group of Matucana. He thinks that it might be a transitional form between Matucana paucicostataSN|6059]]SN|6059]] and Matucana tuberculataSN|6031]]SN|6084]] but there is not enough known about it. (No official description or type etc.) Therefore, it remains only a synonym of tuberculata.
